MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY OF AFRICA DEVELOPMENT FUND

1. RATIONALE FOR DEVELOPMENT FUND

Management University of Africa is an open society, which specializes in modeling current and future leaders to attain academic and practical grasp of Leadership, Governance and Management, while at the same-time, responding to the Kenyan Constitutional provision for equity of access and inclusiveness, in pursuance of education for all Kenyans. It operates on a cost recovery basis, and, aims at reaching as many individuals directly or indirectly.

The need to attain financial stability, provide more relevant market and society driven academic programs in management, governance & leadership for students from diverse socio - economic divide, and attain infrastructural development, on a constant dynamic financial landscape necessitate the need for a Development Fund for the University.

MUA Development Fund office provides an avenue that the university uses to achieve its dual mission of innovativeness and creativity for holistic human development. The Development fund, under the stewardship of the Development Director, and is anchored on three pillars: the Endowment pillar, the Investment pillar and the Service pillar.

2. GOAL OF DEVELOPMENT FUND

The goal of the fund is to develop global leaders and managers for tomorrow by expanding, strengthening, and diversifying the university resources

3. OBJECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENT FUND

1. Create a responsive Endowment Fund pillar that will provide an avenue for holistic human development for the university community by 2016.
2. Develop and strengthen the university financial base that will enable physical infrastructural development and expansion by 2016.
3. Provide innovative home-grown, leadership, governance and management solutions to the Kenyan society towards attainment of vision 2030.

4. PILLARS OF DEVELOPMENT FUNDS

Unless otherwise provided, the University have three pillars of the Development fund, each functioning independently, through a collaborative mode.

4.1 The Endowment Fund Pillar
Aim – provision of holistic human development for the university community

4.2 The Investment pillar
Aim – expansion and strengthening of the university financial base

4.3 The Service pillar
Aim – provide development services that will spar societal growth and strategically place the university academic programs for consideration in areas of leadership, governance, and management.
