Advanced Diploma In Logistics And Transport For Chartered Institute Of Logistic And Transport (CILT).

INTRODUCTION
Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, whose core objective is to advance knowledge and professionalism in logistics, transport and supply chain management is mandated by the government of the United Kingdom and registered by the Kenyan government ministry of Education. CILT has had experience of 92 years in offering professional courses using an integrated, regular, open, distant learning and recently on-line models. The memorandum of understanding between the Management University of Africa (MUA) and CILT is to offer professional courses in transport and logistics.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT COURSE OUTLINE
The advanced Diploma in Logistics and transport is offered to the final year Bachelor of Management and Leadership (BML) degree students majoring in purchasing and supplies management. The duration of the programme shall be six (6) months.

The units to be covered include:

  1. Fleet, Freight and Passenger transport management;
  2. Transport planning;
  3. Inventory and warehouse management;
  4. Advanced logistics and supply chain management;
  5. Project management III; and,
  6. CILT dissertation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced Diploma

  1. Secondary education (O level) certificate with mean grade of at least grade C+ (or equivalent) and,
  2. A minimum of grade C+ (or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics
    Or
  3. A level certificate with at least two principal passes and,
  4. A credit in Mathematics and English at secondary education level.
    Or
  5. CILT professional diploma.
    Or
  6. A degree in purchasing, logistics or supply chain management from a recognized university.

Professional Diploma

  1. Secondary education (O level) certificate with mean grade of at least grade C+ (or equivalent) and,
  2. A minimum of grade C+ (or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics.
    Or
  3. A level certificate with at least two principal passes and,
  4. A credit in Mathematics and English at secondary education level.
    Or
  5. CILT professional certificate.
    Or
  6. A degree from a recognized university.

Professional Certificate

  • Secondary education (O level) certificate with mean grade of at least grade D+ (or equivalent)

FEE CHARGED
The fee charged for the Advanced diploma in logistics and transport management shall be Ksh. 80,000, of which half this amount will be remitted to CILT (K) chapter office, this is as per the memorandum of understanding between MUA and CILT.

MODE OF STUDY
The six (6) modules shall each be offered on a monthly basis once a week. Each session lasting 2 hours. A comprehensive examination shall be done after completing the six modules.

EXAMINATION ADMINISTRATION
The students undertaking the CILT diploma shall sit for the final comprehensive examination at the end of six (6) months at MUA premises. The exams shall be management form the dean's office in collaboration with CILT (K) chapter. The examinations shall be done twice a year, in the months of June and November.

CERTIFICATION
On completion of the program the students shall be awarded a CILT certificate from CILT (UK), they shall also receive a membership certificate upon payment of the membership fee of Ksh. 7,280 (Seven thousand two hundred and eighty only).

Registration

The initial registration is done throughout the year depending on when you want to sit for your 1st ACCA exams. Registration is done online from the ACCA website at www.accaglobal.com. You must register 20 days prior to your 1st exam booking date.

 Putting you in control
You can control the speed of your progression and the specialisms you wish to develop. You can choose to sit exams either through paper-based exams in June and December or on-demand computer-based exams whenever it suits you best. Computer- based exams are currently available for papers F1 to F3. You also have the flexibility of sitting up to four exams every six-month session which will allow you to make rapid progress.

Fees
How much will it cost you to study for the ACCA qualification? On registration, you will be asked to pay an initial subscription fee. Then on 1st January each year, an annual subscription fee will be due. As you enter for exams or claim exemptions, exam fees will depend on the period a student enters for exams. Exemptions
Yes,The number of exemptions you can claim will depend on how closely your previous academic qualifications match the content of the ACCA syllabus.
