2019 MANAGEMENT UNIVERSITY OF AFRICA AND COMPUTER FOR SCHOOLS KENYA SIGNED A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING 

MUA - CFSK MOU 2019

This was after a year of discussion to identify and accept each institution’s strength.

1. WEEE Centre is an off shoot of Computers for Schools Kenya (CFSK). Started in 2002, CFSK is a non-governmental organization whose mission is to empower young Kenyans for life in a knowledge-based society by facilitating the development of ICT infrastructure, capacity building and electronic waste (e-waste) management. CFSK promotes ICT in education through distribution of high-end brand new or reconditioned computers to learning institutions as well as community information access and resource access centers. The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Centre (WEEE Centre), initiated as e-Waste management program outfit by CFSK endeavors to promote environmentally friendly mechanisms, training, and relevant research for e-waste management.

2. MUA is a National institution whose Statutory functions and objects inter alia include the provision of university education aimed at producing mature and conscientious graduates with the skill, ability and desire to contribute to the well¬ being and development of the people of Kenya in accordance with the national philosophy mutual social responsibility; to develop and transmit knowledge and skills through research and training at undergraduate and post graduate levels, either directly or through the medium of connected colleges, schools or institutes;

3. The Parties recognize the value of technological co-operation in furtherance of their respective statutory mandates for an integrated and superior development in the betterment of humanity.

4. ALL Parties aware that e-Waste causes detrimental impacts on public health and the environment and the need to initiate programs for public awareness, in-depth training, research, and processing in environmentally friendly way.

ALL parties aware that social and economic development of communities largely depends on quality training, in which constructive collaboration will lead to joint development of training materials, curriculum, examination and certification for sustainable human development.
