The Corporate Affairs Department strengthens MUA’s reputation through strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, media relations and impactful partnerships.

ABOUT THE CORPORATE AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT

The Corporate Affairs Department at the Management University of Africa (MUA) is responsible for shaping the university’s public image, strengthening stakeholder relationships and driving strategic communication initiatives. We ensure that MUA’s brand remains strong, credible and aligned with our mission of transforming and uplifting society through quality education and leadership development.

OUR MANDATE

We support the university by coordinating communication efforts, building strong partnerships and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. Through effective stakeholder engagement and reputation management, we position MUA as a leader in academic excellence and societal transformation.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

– Developing and implementing the university’s communication strategy

– Crafting speeches, press releases, newsletters and official communication

– Ensuring brand consistency across all departments

2. MEDIA RELATIONS

– Managing relationships with local, regional and international media

– Responding to media inquiries and coordinating press engagements

– Monitoring media coverage and generating publicity for university activities

3. PUBLIC RELATIONS & BRANDING

– Enhancing MUA’s visibility through campaigns, events and community outreach

– Protecting and promoting the university’s brand identity

– Managing corporate events and official ceremonies

4. CORPORATE GOVERNANCE, COMPLIANCE & REGULATORY AFFAIRS— Ensure the MUA complies with laws, regulations and corporate governance requirements; support board or executive secretarial functions; manage transparency and accountability.

5. CORPORATE-LEVEL STRATEGY, POLICY & ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT — Provide strategic advice to senior leadership/management, support decision-making, help in policy formulation, and coordinate cross-departmental institutional functions.

6. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) &PUBLIC /COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT — Oversee social responsibility initiatives, community or stakeholder outreach, sustainability efforts, and broader public trust and legitimacy

7. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Stakeholder & Government Relations — Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as government bodies/regulators, partners, the public, media, investors and strategic institutions and communities. Moreso coordinating communication with students, staff, alumni, government and partners

8. CRISIS MANAGEMENT & REPUTATION PROTECTION

 Prepare for and respond to crises or reputational threats, manage public perception, mitigate risks to the organization’s integrity or public image

9. DIGITAL COMMUNICATION

– Managing the university’s website content and updates

– Coordinating social media strategy and online presence

– Creating engaging digital content to promote MUA programs and milestones
