About the Directorate
The Directorate of Open, Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) is responsible for coordinating, regulating, and continuously improving online and blended learning at the Management University of Africa. The Directorate ensures compliance with Commission for University Education (CUE) standards and alignment with institutional quality assurance and global best practices.
Flexible Digital Learning for the Modern Learner
Mandate and Core Functions
- Development, review, and implementation of ODeL policies, standards, and SOPs
- Coordination of accreditation and regulatory compliance for ODeL programmes
- Oversight and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Quality assurance of online teaching, learning, and assessment
- Capacity building for faculty in digital pedagogy
- Provision of academic, technical, and administrative support to ODeL students
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on ODeL performance

ODeL GOVERNANCE & BOARD STRUCTURE
The Directorate of Open, Distance and e-Learning operates within a defined governance framework to ensure academic integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
ODeL Board / Committee
The ODeL Board provides strategic oversight, policy guidance, and quality assurance for all ODeL programmes. The Board is responsible for:
- Oversight of ODeL policy implementation
- Review of programme quality and delivery standards
- Monitoring compliance with CUE and University regulations
- Advising Management on strategic ODeL initiatives
The Board comprises representatives from academic schools, quality assurance, ICT, examinations, library services, faculty representation and University Management, and reports through approved University governance structures.
